The VCP driver creates a virtual COM port on your computer that can be used with any serial communication software. FTDI provides two types of drivers for the FT245R: VCP (Virtual COM Port) and D2XX (Direct).
To use the FT245R USB FIFO IC, you need to install the appropriate driver for your operating system.
